<p class="has-primary-color has-text-color wp-block-paragraph"><strong>What is our identity as young Christians seeking God&#8217;s kingdom and striving to do His work? ;</strong></p>



<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Many people, especially young people, are suffering, feeling lost, confused, and hurt. One of the most popular conversations in which the youth of my church has been engaged has been on mental health. What it is, how it shows up, and ways we can mitigate some of those side effects. ;</p>



<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Some of the conversations were generated based on our personal experiences and the experiences of our friends and talking with fellow Christians who shared the same goal, values and purpose on how we can support our friends and family members as they are going through difficult times has been a source of strength for us. ;</p>



<p class="has-primary-color has-text-color wp-block-paragraph"><strong>Let&#8217;s quickly define identity</strong>.<strong> ;</strong></p>



<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Your identity is who you are at your core. Many things help to shape your identity. Your personality, attitudes, characteristic traits, all your memories, experiences, and relationships you have had. The values and beliefs your parents instill in you help shape your sense of self. ;</p>



<p class="wp-block-paragraph">So, when you wake up each morning, you are grounded in who you are, and nothing that happens in your life can change who you are-Not, your grades, your jobs, your relationships, or issues you might encounter. ;</p>



<p class="wp-block-paragraph">When you experience an identity crisis, you question who you are. </p>



<p class="has-primary-color has-text-color wp-block-paragraph"><strong>Parents must teach their children and youth early on about who God says they are.</strong> The word of God said in proverbs 22 vs. 6, &#8220;train up a child in the way he should go; even when he is old, he will not depart from it.&#8221;</p>



<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Parents, it is your job and duty to instruct your kids. Don&#8217;t leave their education to the schools, friends, or society. ;</p>



<p class="wp-block-paragraph">God knew there might come a time when your children may experience an identity crisis; however, if they&#8217;ve been grounded in the word of God, they will not depart from what they&#8217;ve learned. ;</p>



<p class="wp-block-paragraph">It is your job to help shape your children&#8217;s identity. If you want them to become responsible adults, you must teach them how to do it. If you want them to become God-fearing Christians, it is your job to teach them at home about God. ;</p>



<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Don&#8217;t let your kids leave home without teaching them the core values and beliefs you want them to know. ;</p>



<p class="has-primary-color has-text-color wp-block-paragraph"><strong>Now for the youth and young adults, </strong>if you want to prevent or move from an identity crisis experience, it is your job to listen and follow your parents&#8217; instructions and what the bible says. ;</p>



<p class="has-primary-background-color has-background wp-block-paragraph"><strong>The root cause of an identity crisis is when we move away from God. It is when we lose sight of God&#8217;s design for our life. As young Christians, you are a member of the body of Christ; therefore, your anchor needs to come from God. ;</strong></p>



<p class="has-primary-color has-text-color wp-block-paragraph">When figuring out how to fix the problem, you may reach out to everyone –friends, families, mentors, therapists—<strong>you call on everyone trying to get their opinions, but God</strong>. </p>



<p class="wp-block-paragraph">If you are reading this article and feeling lost and disappointed about your life, reach out to God and share your worries with Him before you talk to anyone else. And God, in His infinite wisdom, will guide you on what you need to do next and who you need to speak to for guidance.</p>



<p class="has-primary-color has-text-color wp-block-paragraph"><strong>Don&#8217;t let the world shape your identity and tell you who you are— Tell the world who you are through your actions, attitudes, and behaviors.</strong> ;</p>



<p class="has-primary-background-color has-background wp-block-paragraph">Know that God unconditionally loves you. When you accept Christ as your savior, you are redeemed and renewed. You become the world&#8217;s light, the salt of the earth, and you reflect God&#8217;s grace and mercy. You have full access to all the blessings that God has in store for you, and you are what the world needs to become the best version of itself. ;</p>
