As I get older and hopefully wiser, I have realized that my spiritual growth and relationship with God is more important to me than religious practices and activities. So often the church links religious traditions to having a relationship with God, but that’s not my truth. It took some reflection, learning, and confidence to know and say that God is everywhere, He is everything, and He is always there. I don’t have to be engaged or be part of a religious group to have a close relationship with God. I am involved in an organized religion in order to have fellowship with likeminded individuals.
