New Year 2022: Living an Authentic Life

Just like that, it is a new year! I am going into this year on a positive note. There are many things I want to achieve this year and new experiences that I am ready to have. One of the things that I have shied away from is taking risks. I have always been cautious in everything that I do. from the people I have allowed in and those I walked away from in my life; I have practiced caution. So, this year, I will permit myself to take some RISKs in my personal, professional, spiritual, and financial life. It will be nerve whacking, but I think it would help me grow over time. The whole purpose of life is to continue growing and learning and thus improve in the process.

Usually, I set new year goals, but this year, I don’t have any plans that I will work to accomplish. However, I have financial goals that I will be continuing to work on this year and in the years to come. In addition, I have some personal life achievements that I hope to progress over the next couple of months.

My expectation this year is for me to take care of myself. To block out the noises and other people’s expectations of what I should and should not do. I have lived most of my life trying to please other people at the expense of my own needs and wants. However, I am going to focus on myself. I am going to allow myself to be self-centered. To say no when I want to say no. To rest when I feel the need to rest. To give or withhold giving when I want. To love who I want to without considering what other people might think. To be the way that I was meant to be.

This year, I want to bring my authentic self into everything I do and not be apologetic for what I choose to do. I will protect my physical, mental, spiritual, and financial well-being.

I will continue to put God at the center of my life and apply His teaching to live my authentic self.

Cheers to Year 2022!
